The golden jubilee of Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering (ACCE) of Rajshahi University (RU) was observed on the campus on Sunday amid huge enthusiasm. Marking the day, ACCE Department chalked out elaborate program including colorful rally, discussion meeting, science exhibition.
RU vice chancellor Prof M Abdus Sobhan inaugurated the day’s program as chief guest with releasing balloons and pigeons at 10:00 am in front of the Department. The teachers, officials, former and current students of the department brought out a grand rally that terminated at Kazi Nazru Islam Auditorium of the university. A discussion meeting was also held at the Kazi Nazrul Islam auditorium presided over by the chairman of the department Prof Dr Dil Afroz Begum. Among others, Additional Secretary of Bangladesh Public Administration ministry Eusuf Harun, RU Pro-VC Prof Dr Ananda Kumar Saha, Dean of social science faculties Prof Dr. Faizur Rahman, were present as the special guests. Professor of the dept Prof Dr Ranjit Kumar Biswas offered welcome speech on the program.
Speakers said on the program, “We all should work for the development of academic activities of RU so that the university can secure good position in the world university ranking.”
