The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) on Tuesday initiated a move against former judge Faruq Ahmed as allegations surfaced that he acquitted a large number of accused in several cases by abusing his power.
The Commission at its regular meeting on Tuesday appointed a two-member probe team, led by its deputy director Jatan Kumar Roy, to conduct an inquiry against former judge of Dhaka Special Judge Court Faruq Ahmed, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told UNB. According to the allegations received by the ACC, just before going to retirement recently, Faruq Ahmed acquitted many accused in 15 sensational cases by taking bribe.
