Quality assurance culture is the prime need for preparing graduates for professional and real life settings. Equipping the graduates with updated knowledge and skills is also needed to face the challenges of 21st century. Quality higher education is key to enabling graduates for becoming leaders in own field of expertise, observed Prof Dr Sivanes Philipson of Monash University, Australia.
She made the observation while presenting the key-note paper at a round table discussion on ‘Quality Assurance in Higher Education: An Australian Perspective’ at UGC auditorium in the city on Saturday. Prof Dr Mohammad Mohabbat Khan, Chairman (In-Charge), University Grants Commission of Bangladesh presided over the function. Prof Dr Mohammad Yousuf Ali Mollah, Member, UGC, Prof Dr Mesbahuddin Ahmed, Head of Quality Assurance Unit, UGC, Dr Md. Khaled, Secretary, UGC and senior academicians of public and private universities were present.
Prof Dr Mohabbat Khan, in his presidential speech said that UGC is working to establish institutional quality assurance cell (IQAC) in public and private universities for enhancing the quality of higher education.
