Rotary International District 3281 celebrated World Youth Day amid colourful programme on Saturday. The theme of the day was “Youth Building Peace.”
A rally led by Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique started from the Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) and ended at the foot of the Aporajeyo Bangla after parading different roads on the campus.
About two hundred youth leaders and activists from different youth organisations took part in the rally.
District Governor of Rotary International FH Arif and Programme Chair Rtn Ashequr Rahman Mishu were also present at the rally.
Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique said youths are the asset of the nation. “You are the next generation of the country. Everyone should be patriot. It is high time to do something for the nation and the youths should concentrate in nation building activities,” he said.
“The youths always work to bring and establish peace in any society. So we hope that the youths of our country will work more to bring peace,” the VC said.
