On stage Rosy Siddiqui started her acting career by theatre group, Arambagh Theatre. She first acted under the direction of Momtaz Uddin Ahmed in play Shat Ghat-er Kanakori. From 1989 to 1993 she acted with this theatre group. After getting married with Shahiduzzaman Selim on December 16, 1993 she has been attached with another popular group Dhaka Theatre. Till now she is attached with this troupe. Haat Hodai, Prachyo, Bon Pangshul, Dhaboman, etc are Rosy Siddiqui’s acted mentionable plays with Dhaka Theatre.
Today this popular actress is going to perform on stage. She will perform her solo performance with Poncho Nari Akhkhyan under the direction of Shahiduzzaman Selim at the Experimental Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy at 6:30pm. The play was written by Harunur Rashid. Afzal Hossain is stage planning of the play. Shimul Yousuf and Chandan Chowdhury will be in music direction.
While talking about the play Rosy told this correspondent, “Audience should watch the play to become human being.”
Hailed from Siddique Bazar of old Dhaka Rosy Siddiqui first acted in a TV play in 1990. The play was produced by Alimuzzaman Dulu under the story written by Aziz Misir. Late Khaled Khan was her co-actor in the play. But she came into limelight acting then popular TV serial Jonmobhumi. During that time she was popular by name Bijli.
Now Rosy Siddiqui is acting in drama serial Progga Paromita under the joint direction by Matia Banu Shuku and Juboraj and Aronno Anwar’s Korta Kahini. Rosy acted first movie was Goutam Ghosh’s Padma Nodir Majhi. Her only acted commercial movie titled Love Story, which was directed by Kazi Hayat.
