Rosy Siddiqui in Goutam Ghosh’s movie after 22 years

Recently popular actress Rosy Siddiqui has performed under the direction of noted Indian filmmaker Goutam Ghosh in a movie Shonkhochil after a break of 22 years. She acted in an important role in the movie.
In 1993, Rosy performed under Goutam Ghosh’s directed in a movie titled Padma Nodir Majhi. It was Rosy’s acted first movie.
Therefore, Rosy is again coming with a solo performance on the stage. She will be present with a theatre play titled Poncho Nari Akhkhyan at the Experimental Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in the capital at 7:00pm on Wednesday.
Directed by Shahiduzzaman Selim Rosy will perform in the play under the script written by Harunur Rashid.
It will be 24th stage presentation of Poncho Nari Akhkhyan. In 2013, it was first staged in Bongomela in Virginia in USA.
While talking about her performance in the play Rosy Siddiqui told this correspondent, “I am expected both males and females to come to the play venue to enjoy Poncho Nari Akhkhyan. In fact, everybody should watch this play.”
It may be mentioned that Rosy Siddiqui debuted her theatre career by popular theatre group, Arambag Theatre. She first acted under Momtazuddin Ahmed’s directed a play Shatghat-er Kanakori. From 1989 to 1993, she performed under the banner of this theatre group.
Later Rosy attached with Dhaka Theatre after getting married with Shahiduzzaman Selim on December 16, 1993.
From that time to till now she has been engaged with this theatre group.
Rosy Siddiqui’s acted mentionable theatre plays are: Haat Hodai, Prachcho, Bon Pangshul, Dhaboman, etc.
In 1990, Rosy first acted in a short play on BTV, which was produced by Alimuzzaman Dulu under the story written by Aziz Misir. Late Khaled Khan was her co-actor in that play. But she came into limelight to act in then popular drama serial Jonmobhumi. During that time she was popularly known as Bijly to all.
Now Rosy Siddiqui is acting under Shilpi Sarkar Apu’s direction in a drama serial titled Regey Gelen To Herey Gelen, which story was written by Noresh Bhuiyan, she mentioned.
