Rosey Selim is a talented and reputed actress of television dramas. She is also a versatile actress in theatre plays. She also acted in some viewers’ choice movies. In her long time acting career, for the first time Rosey acted in a negative role in a movie. She got huge appreciation for playing the character, Daisy Sarkar, a negative role in movie ‘Poran.’ She only got the opportunity to act in 4 to 5 scenes in the movie
but her short time presence on the screen impressed the viewers’ attention and made the movie lively. Her character also came into discussion. Therefore, during release of ‘Poran,’ Rosy starrer and Anonno Mamun directorial movie ‘Psycho’ was also released. In this movie, Rosey was seen to act in role of heroine’s mother.
Rosey believes if ‘Psycho’ was released during other times when ‘Poran’ did not get release, the movie will also come into discussion and her character will also come into limelight. But she is satisfied with her role in ‘Poran.’ While talking in this regard, Rosey Selim said, “In my acting career, for the first time I acted in a negative character. I couldn’t believe I could get such response for acting in negative role. Viewers are still watching ‘Poran’ in theatres. It is the success for any movie. They became impressed to watch my acting in my character in ‘Poran.’ If I get good story and role if it is negative I will agree to work in movie. At the end of this month, I am going to start shooting of Natya Kendra’s Faisal’s direction in a new movie, which shooting will take place in Kuakata.”
Meanwhile, Rosey Selim informed that on Thursday, she took part in the shooting of Boishakhi TV’s ongoing serial ‘Bou Shashurir Juddho,’ directed by Akash Ranjan. Rosey’s husband noted actor and director Shahiduzzaman Selim is also acting with her in this serial. On the stage, under Shahiduzzaman Selim’s direction, Rosey is regularly acting in theatre play ‘Poncho Nari Akkhyan.’
In 1989, Rosey Selim debut her acting career professionally through Momtazuddin Ahmed directed theatre play titled ‘Shatghater Kanakori.’ Goutam Ghosh directed ‘Padma Nodir Majhi’ was her acted debut movie. Later, she also acted in Kazi Hayat’s movie ‘Love Story.’ ‘Made In Bangladesh’ and ‘Shonkhochil’ were her acted other mentionable movies.
