Justin Rose is up two places to eighth in the world golf rankings following his win in the Quicken Loans National in Washington on Sunday.
It was the Englishman’s first tournament win since he lifted the US Open at Merion a year ago and sets him up for the year’s third major, the British Open, at Hoylake from July 17-20.
Australia’s Adam Scott retained the top ranking a point clear of Henrik Stenson of Sweden who took second place at the BMW International in Cologne after a playoff.
Tiger Woods, who missed the cut in Washington on his comeback from back surgery, stayed in fifth place behind two other Americans, Bubba Watson and Matt Kuchar.
