Roquaiya Hasina Neely’s solo musical show in Mumbai

Noted Tagore artiste and music exponent Roquaiya Hasina Neely rendered songs at Banga Sanskriti Utsav at Rabindra Natya Mandir, Prabhadevi in Mumbai, India on March 1 as an invited singer of the Presidency College Alumni Association, Mumbai (PCAAM).
Neely has achieved great popularity, respect and fame for presenting Tagore songs in its pure form. She is also an accomplished presenter of songs of music legends Atul Prasad, DL Roy and Rajani Kanta and old Bengali songs.
Drawing inspiration from father late Rashidul Hasan, a martyred during the Liberation War, Neely trained under revered music composers and directors like Abdul Ahad, Dr Sanjida Khatoon, late Waheedul Haque, Zahidur Rahim and Ajit Roy to accomplish her talents.
She finished her five years course in music from Chhayanat Biddayatan. Now she is a special grade artist in Bangladesh Television (BTV) and Betar. Neely had also been teaching for many years at Chhayanat and also at Government Music College in Dhaka. She is now director and music trainer of musical organisation Abbhudoy, founded by renowned music director and Tagore singer late Ajit Roy.
Neely received the prestigious Citycell-Channel i Music Award 2008 in category of Best Vocal in Rabindra Sangeet. So far her five music albums have been released and two more albums will be released soon.
