Monirul Islam, roommate of Motaleb Hossain Lipu, who was earlier detained for interrogation was sent to jail yesterday noon showing arrest in the latter’s murder case.
Lipu, a second year student of Mass Communication and Journalism Department of Rajshahi University was found dead in gutter of the university Nawab Abdul Latif Hall premises on Thursday morning.
On the day evening, Lipu’s uncle Bashir Mollah filed a murder case with Motihar thana police station with unnamed person.
Immediately after recovering Lipu’s death body, Police detained Monir, a 2nd year student of Botany department, Lipu’s friend Pradeep and two guards of the hall for interrogation.
Though Pradeep and two guards were released on Saturday noon, police has detained two guards again for more interrogation.
Contacted, Ashok Chouhan, Officer-In-Charge (Investigation) said, after primary interrogation, Lipu’s roommate Monir was sent to jail as we are suspecting his involvement with the incident
