Like previous years Channel i in support with IFIC Bank organised a painting programme titled Rongtulitey Muktijuddho on the Channel i office premises in the city’s Tejgaon area on March 26 on the occasion of marking Independence Day.
With the presence of country’s 50 noted and promising painters drew their canvases in the programme to focus on the country’s war of independence. Popular TV actor and director Afzal Hossain moderated the event.
Noted educationist Borhanuddin Khan Jahangir inaugurated the event. This year the event was sacrificed to late painter Qayyum Chowdhury to pay tribute to him.
Managing Director of Channel i and Impress Telefilm Ltd Faridur Reza Sagor handed over crests to trustees of Liberation War Museum Sarwar Ali and Tariq Ali in the programme.
Directors of Channeli Zahiruddin Mahmud Mamun, Abdur Rashid Mazumder, Mukit Mazumder Babu, among others, were also present on the occasion.
Besides drawing, noted Tagore artiste Rezwana Chowdhury Bonnya and students of her music school, Surer Dhara also performed in the programme, which was telecasted on Channel i live from 2:30pm to 5:00pm.
Therefore, noted poets Asad Chowdhury, Habibullah Siraji and Hasan Arif recited poems in the programme. Budding painters of Bangladesh Shishu Academy also took part in the painting programme.
Painters Biren Shome, Monirul Islam, Syed Iqbal, Moniruzzaman, Abdul Mannan, Sheikh Afzal, Sabyasachi Hazra, Khalid Mahmud Mithu, Bipasha Hayat, Nasim Ahmed Nadvi, Naima Haque, Rafi Haque, Rezaunn Nabi, Sohana Shahrin, Aloptagin Tushar, Syed Zahid Iqbal, Anukul Chandra Mazumder, Md Zahiruddin, Hamiduzzaman Khan, Laila Sharmin, Ranjit Das, Zahid Mustafa, among others, drew on their canvasses.
