The Department of English of East Delta University (EDU), Chittagong, staged Shakespeare’s classic romantic tragedy Romeo and Juliet recently as a part of worldwide commemoration of his plays on his 400th anniversary at the university premise, said a press release.
The whole university wore a festive look and the staged was adorned befittingly for a Shakespeare’s play.
The antecedent song sung by Kamolgandha and Tafriha lent the hall a cultural aura. The full house enjoyed the tragic love story of the play with an awed whisper and adulatory clap.
The program was hallowed by the presence of Prof M Sekandar Khan, Vice Chancellor of EDU. Among others, Prof Shams-Ud-Doha, Treasurer, Shah Ahmed Ripon, Chairman, Department of English, Shahidul Islam Chowdhury, Associate Professor and Sabrin Sarwar, lecturer of the Department of English were present.
