The third death anniversary of the helmsman of the journalist community , former President of National Press Club, BFUJ , Special Correspondent of BSS, Bangladesh Correspondent of Voice of America, founder advisor of Swadhin Sangbad Patak Samity , unparallel journalist of the country Gias Kamal Chowdhury was held at Chittagong Press Club Auditorium on October 29 last with Journalist SM Jamaluddin in the chair.
Former Mayor Alhaj Mahmudul Islam chowdhiry graced the occasion as chief guest. Organising Secretary of the Patak Samity Md. Nazimuddin conducted the programme as moderator.
Special guest Moinuddin Kaderi Showkat in his brief deliverations said Gias Kamal chowdhury was a unparallel journalist of the country and he was the helmsman of the journalist community.
His contribution to the well being of the journalists is unforgettable, he added. The chair of the anniversary programme SM Jamaluddin in his concluding speech emphasized role of Gias Kamal Chowdhury and earmarked him as helmsman of the democracy. Milad and Doa Mahfil held after end of the discussion, sources said.
