Popular actress and host Roksana Akter Popi was admitted into a hospital in India from January to next eight months. Now she is getting well. During her tough time Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor MP and Ahsan Habib Nasim of Actors’ Unity co-operated her a lot, while rest of the treatment cost was carried out by herself. Right now Popi wants to stand in front of camera. She wants to work now.
Popi said, “When I was sick many noted directors wanted to cast me in their works but I couldn’t act due to my illness. With Allah’s blessing and everybody’s prays now I am well. I want to work now in media.”
Popi last year acted in Mohan Khan’s serial Neer Khonjey Gungchil. She also got appreciation from all to host special days programmes of Bangladesh Television and popular show Chhayachhanda. Recently her acting was appreciated in a short film titled ‘Bustard’ released in Youtube channel.
In 2013, Popi became Best Model by Dhaka WASA. She also came into limelight to perform as a model in a TV commercial of a mobile company under Amitabh Reza’s direction. She has interest to work in big screen, Popi also said.
Hailed from Brahmanbaria today is Popi’s birthday. She wants to establish herself in media as an actress and a host. She wants to pass the day along with her family, she added.
