Rohingyas undergoing treatment at CMCH

A total of 114 Rohingya citizens of Myanmar , who received bullet and bomb injuries, are undergoing treatment at Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH), the largest government hospital in Chittagong zone. Of the said Rohingya patients, one is found as HIV positive, one is suffering from Hepatitis C and another is suffering from liver cancer, said sources in CMCH.
According to Brigadier Gen Md Jalal Uddin, Director of the Chittagong Medical College Hospital, a total of 114 bullet and bomb injured Rohingyas have been admitted at the Chittagong Medical College Hospital after fleeing Myanmar with critical injuries so far. Of the injured victims, two died at the hospital and the rest are undergoing treatment at the Chittagong Medical College Hospital as of Sunday.
Brig Gen Md Jalal Uddin said, “We have admitted them to our hospital on humanity ground. We did not consider their citizenship, but considered them just as patients.” “Ashar Alo foundation, an NGO, is taking care of the HIV positive patient in Chittagong,” he added.
Md Jalal Uddin further said, “The rest of Rohingya patients are suffering from critical injuries of bomb and bullet. We have to have cut limbs of some patients. But, their conditions are better now.” He said, “There are no Rohingya patients who are suffering from Measles or Tuberculosis. However, the Rohingya people with the injuries are still coming to our hospital.”
