Police detained a Rohingya youth from Meherchandi Madhyapara area of the city on Saturday morning.
The detainee was identified as Tousif, 34.
Aman Ullah, Officer-in-Charge of Boalia Police Station, said a police team detained Tousif from the area around 10am after he was found moving there aimlessly amid rain.
Tousif could not speak Bangla and introduced himself to police as a Myanmar citizen, the OC said, adding that he fled Myanmar two days ago.
