Rohingya man killed in Teknaf ‘gunfight’

A Rohingya man, a suspect in the murder of Jubo League (JL) leader Omar Faruk, was killed in a reported gunfight with police in Teknaf upazila early Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Habib Ullah, 40, son of Ali Ahammad of Noyapara area.

 Pradip Kumar Das said tipped off that Habib and his associates will commit robbery at Noyapara Mochoni registered camp a team of police conducted a drive there.
Sensing presence of the law enforcers, the robbers fired gunshots on them, forcing them to fire back in self-defence that triggered the gunfight.
Habib and three cops were also injured during the gunfight.
Habib was referred to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital from Teknaf Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
