Big conspiracy by terrorists to rock India with serial bomb blasts has been thwarted with the arrest of 10 people. The plan was to attack crowded places, vital installations like Delhi Police headquarter and RSS office, VVIPs and political personalities. The big breakthrough as NIA on Wednesday busted a suspected ISIS-inspired terror module following searches in Uttar Pradesh and New Delhi. The main conspirator is Maulvi of a masjid in Amroha, UP. Among those arrested, one has claimed to be an Amity University student. About 25 kg explosive, Rs 7.5 lakh cash, nearly 100 mobile phones, 135 SIM cards, laptops, memory cards, 12 pistols, 112 alarm clocks, country-made rocket launchers and remote-controlled IEDs have beeb seized by NIA.The National Investigation Agency conducted searches across 17 locations in Uttar Pradesh and New Delhi in connection with its probe into the new module called ‘Harkat ul Harb e Islam’. The module was in touch with foreign handlers,
whose identity is yet to be established, National Investigation Agency (NIA) Inspector General Alok Mittal told reporters. ‘The main gang leader is Mufti Sohail, a Maulvi of an Amroha mosque. The group has a handler in a foreign country. They planned to target vital installations and important people, including politicians. They wanted to explode remote-controlled bombs and even conduct fidayeen attacks. They even tried. making a bulletproof jacket,’ the NIA IG said.
