Rock production of Maddhyapara Granite Mining Company Ltd (MGMCL) located in Phulbari upazila under Dinajpur district resumed on Saturday after 26 days of its closer.
The mine authority suspended its production on April 14 for maintenance and overhauling. Besides, there was a shortage of explosive, which was key part for extracting rock from underground, mine sources said.
However, the explosive arrived at the mine site on May 8 from India and more explosive to arrive from other countries.
Official sources said, during the maintenance and overhauling, several iron ropes of escalator and conveyer belts which use to carry the produced rock to surface from underground have been replaced with new one and a weight scale device also set up in underground.
After completing all, the mine started its official rock production on Saturday morning. And since Saturday morning, the mine product at least 900 metric tones of rock.
