Brazilian forward Robson scored a brace as star-studded Bashundhara Kings recorded their third victory in the TVS Bangladesh Premier League Football defeating ten men Bangladesh Police Football Club which was held on Thursday at Bashundhara Sports Complex in the city.
With the day’s feat, the defending champions Kings raised their tally to nine points from four matches while Bangladesh Police Football Club (FC) remained at their previous credit of two points playing the same number of outings.
Apart from Robson’s two goals, striker Eleta Kingsley supported him with a lone goal for the winning side. The match locked goalless at the breather.
Bashundhara Kings, who began the proceeding launching several attacks, could not score any goal because Police FC kept their tent unhurt ensuring the score sheet clean foiling the number of Bashundhara’s attacks till the first half.
After the resumption, Bashundhara came to the field in a more organized way and was finally able to break the deadlock as Robson scored the first goal in the 66th minute. The prolific Brazilian striker Robson doubled the lead scoring his second goal converting a spot kick in the 77th minute, while Eleta Kingsley completed the tally scoring the third goal for Kings in the 87th minute of the match.
Bangladesh Police Football Club were reduced to ten men in the 82nd minute by the referee as Esanur Rahman was shown a red card following his double yellow cards. Bashundhara Kings will play their next match against Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society scheduled to be held on February 22 at the same venue, while Bangladesh Police Football Club will face Uttar Baridhara Club on February 24 at Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani Stadium in Gopalganj.
Bashundhara Kings earlier lost to Swadhinata Krira Sangha by 1-2 goals in their League opening match, beat Uttar Baridhara Club by a solitary goal in their second match and edged past Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra by a lone goal in their third match of the League.
Police Football Club lost 0-1 goals to Saif Sporting Club in their League’s opening match, played to a 1-1 goals draw with Abahani Limited, Dhaka in their second match and again split point with Sheikh Jamal DC forcing them to play a goalless draw in their third match of the League.
