Board of Directors of Nepal’s mobile phone operator, Ncell Pvt. Ltd. has recently approved the appointment of Robi’s Managing Director and CEO, Mahtab Uddin Ahmed as the company’s Director.
This appointment allows Mahtab to share his expertise in digital leadership with Nepal’s top operator while he leads from the front Bangladesh’s digital transformation as the MD & CEO of Robi. The appointment also signifies the growing reliance of Bangladeshi talents in Axiata Group which holds controlling stake in both Robi in Bangladesh and Ncell in Nepal, said a press release.
Within ASEAN and South Asia, Axiata Group has controlling stakes in market-leading mobile and fixed operators in the region including ‘Celcom’ in Malaysia, ‘XL’ in Indonesia, ‘Dialog’ in Sri Lanka, ‘Robi’ in Bangladesh, ‘Smart’ in Cambodia and ‘Ncell’ in Nepal.
