Business Report :
Robi recognized 31 of its talents on Thursday at its corporate office in Dhaka through a Talent Graduation ceremony. This talent passing out ceremony took place for the first time in the company since Robi Accelerated Development Programme (RADP) was launched in 2011.
Robi’s potential talents are nurtured through RADP, a special programme designed in line with Axiata Group’s talent development programme.
With a vision to create a pipeline of future leaders, Robi has a unique talent management process to nurture its high potential employees. Through RADP, Robi has created a platform to provide opportunities to the high potential employees to go through a series of development interventions where they can stretch themselves and sharpen their potential.
The talent journey had started in 2011 with the true spirit of “Igniting the Power within”, creating internal leadership bench-strength. These talents have been selected through a scientific method of assessing the mental agility and behavioral attributes along with their performance on the job.
The selected talents are then taken through a development journey where they are exposed to different strategic projects, business games/simulation, and are moved to different roles. It is a continuous education-based development programme beyond their functional responsibilities. After successful completion of this journey, the talents are graduated to take the newer challenges and contribute to their role successfully. Some of the graduating RADP members in senior leadership roles have been also chosen to be the mentors for the existing talent pool.
The graduation event started with a welcome note from the Chief Corporate and People Officer Matiul Islam Nowshad. He highlighted the contribution of the graduating talents and wished their future success in the organization. The company’s MD & CEO Supun Weerasinghe thanked the graduates for their contribution in Robi’s overall growth. Certificates were distributed among the graduating RADP members.
Nowshad said, “It is very encouraging to see our graduating RADP members playing lead role in our success over the years. I am sure that these talents would prove to be the bulwark against all competitive pressures facing our company.”
Congratulating the graduates, Supun Weerasinghe said, “We are proud to have the best talent of the country working with us. It is only through your hard work and dedication we are consistently delivering on the company’s objectives and targets while playing a key role in the process of creating a Digital Bangladesh. He also noted that many RADP members are already being regarded as high performers in many other operating companies of the Axiata Group. Hence, they are at the forefront of Advancing Asia. He wished all the graduates a successful career.
Among others, Robi’s Chief Operating Officer Mahtab Uddin Ahmed, Chief Financial Officer Yap Wai Yip, Chief Technology Officer A.K. M Morshed and the extended Senior Leadership Team members were also present.
