Robi organises career carnival at CU

Robi Axiata Limited, one of the leading mobile phone operators, organised a day-long programme named “Robi Career Carnival” at Chittagong University (CU) today.
Prof. Dr. Iftekhar Uddin Chowdhury, Vice Chancellor, Chittagong University inaugurated programme at the prestigious University.
Robi organised this programme to make the students of CU aware of the career opportunities available with the company and the industry at large.
The CU students were introduced to Robi with a detailed brief on its business operation as well as Robi as an employer. The students were also made aware of the Axiata Group Berhad (The parent company of Robi Axiata Limited) based in Malaysia and its global footprint.
“Career at Sales” and “Alternate Career” sessions were also held as part of the career carnival. The challenges and opportunities of a career in Sales were discussed at the “Career at Sales”. Besides, in the session on “Alternate Career”, the students were informed of opportunities in the mobile telecom sector that goes beyond their academic discipline but equally challenging and rewarding.
A quiz completion was also held for the students. The CU students could also take part in a written test as part of Robi’s recruitment process. Robi’s Executive Vice President, Regulatory Affairs and Company Secretary Mohammed Shahedul Alam, Executive Vice President, Eastern Cluster Market Nazir Ahmed and Vice President, Resourcing Sharmin Sultan were present at the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Robi’s Chief Corporate and People Officer Matiul Islam Nowshad said that: “Robi has always been a proponent of infusing fresh talent within the organization to leverage new perspective and fresh ideas. It has created various platforms to engage with such talents, one being the Career Carnival. Career Carnival has served to be an effective platform where we get to engage with budding talents and exchange perspectives on corporate issues. Such engagement has proven to be a fruitful means of gauging the talent pool of the country, guiding the students on how to plan and pursue a successful career, and subsequently recruiting the right fit from leading universities.”
