Robi maintains 4.5G network

Mobile service provider, Robi, has reached the milestone of on-airing 7,000 4.5G sites on the 11th of August. This significant milestone has widened Robi’s 4.5G network to 532 out of 544 thanas and 477 out of 490 Upazilas, covering 64 percent of the country’s population.
This means that two out of every three citizens of the country have access to Robi’s 4.5G network. Robi is also the first digital operator to have achieved the milestone of three million 4.5G customers, said a press release.
Chief Technology Officer of Robi, Medhat El Husseiny said “Our commitment to take 4.5G network to the entire country was very clear from the beginning. Robi 4.5G service was launched on 20th February in all 64 districts. Riding on the momentum, Robi ended the month of June with 6,100 4.5G sites and reached the milestone of 7,000 4.5G sites within less than six months from launching the service.
Currently Robi 4.5G network covers 98 percent thanas and upazilas of Bangladesh. This clearly shows Robi’s commitment to bring the rural along with the urban community under the fold of Digital Bangladesh. This is a continuation of Robi leading position in the market with the largest 4.5G network of the country.”
