The Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) has fined mobile network operator Robi Axiata Limited Tk4.1 lakh for deceiving subscribers.
DNCRP Deputy Director Shahin Ara Momtaz acted on the basis of three complaints on Monday and asked Robi to submit the money within five working days.
Shahin said that the company was fined for breaching the terms and condition of its packages.
Two Robi officials, Syeda Lutfun Nahar and Ashraf Mahmud, were present at the hearing and they promised to pay the fine within the stipulated time.
Shohag, a subscriber, complained to directorate on February 11 that Robi offered him a package where it promised to provide 1.5 GB of internet data for Tk98 that would be valid for 28 days.
