Robi Axiata Limited, the sponsor of the Bangladesh National Cricket team and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), made a talent hunt campaign for promising fast bowlers at Abdur Rob Serniabad Stadium here on Tuesday.
Secretary of Barisal District Sports Association Nurul Al,am Nuru, BCB Operation Manager AEM Kaiser, Brand and Marketing Communication specialist Faria Raksanda and CEO of Robi Axiata Limited Habib Mansur Arif were present on the occasion.
The program titled “Robi Fast Bowler Hunt” started across the country from January 17 and the primary round will continue till February 7.
A total of 580 cricketers from Barisal registered their name through SMS/Online/by visiting selected Robi Walk-In-Center till January 14, said Media Communication Officer of the programme Shakhawat Ullah.
This program, organised in two phases, was open for both male and female participants between ages 16-23 with 5 feet 6 inches height for male and 5 feet for female participants.
The participants will be judged based on their physical ability, speed of bowling and skills (weight, height, flexibility test, knee to wall).
Finally, selected 64 bowlers with minimum bowling speed of 125 kilometers will be selected for the high performance in Dhaka,
After scrutiny, a total 12 bowlers (10 men and 2 women) were finally selected to be trained for high performance program.
