Campus Report :
The British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Robert W. Gibson CMG visited JAAGO School at Rayer Bazar, Dhaka recently. This was the first school initiated by JAAGO Foundation focussing on delivering quality education to underprivileged children in slums.
Eight years later the children from the school are now sitting their Junior Secondary Education Examinations.
As part of the visit the High Commissioner saw how the new online school, a joint venture between Jaago and Grameenphone, Agni System Ltd was working.
The High Commissioner said:
“This is a game changer. The JAAGO Foundation and its founder Korvi Rakshand have demonstrated that with support from the business community and dedicated youth leaders and volunteers, people’s lives can be changed.
Bringing mainstream education to a group of children who would not normally have any access is truly inspirational.
Also giving them access to an online learning experience not only open’s their horizon’s but allows them to develop essential skills for the future. I hope this joint venture inspires others to contribute to society in Bangladesh.”
During his visit the High Commissioner shared his thoughts and experiences with the students.
