Police have arrested three people in connection with a robbery in a running bus in the capital’s Savar. The robbery took place on Tuesday (June 28) night in the transport of ‘Singra Elegance’.
The arrested are identified as Firoz Islam Vijay (30), Hridoy (25) and Mahmud Khalil (40).
According to police, the passenger bus left Gabtali on Tuesday night. When the bus reached the bypass area of Savar, some robbers got into the bus in guise of passenger. When the bus reached near Tangail, the robbers stabbed the bus driver and took control of the bus and looted goods from the passengers overnight. Mahmud Khalil was arrested as a suspect.
Savar Model Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Mojibur Rahman said, “We have already arrested two robbers. Later, the bus ticket checker has also been arrested from Ashulia as a suspect. Efforts are being made to arrest other robbers, he said.
