UNB, Benapole (Jessore) :
Robbers looted cash Tk60,000 and eight mobile phone sets from a filling station on the Jessore-Benapole Road in Meghla area early Tuesday.
Locals said a gang of armed robbers wearing masks, numbering 8-10, stormed ‘Golf Filling Station’ in the area at about 2:30am.
The hoodlums took its cashier Shahidul Alam and some employees hostage at gunpoint and looted Tk 60,000 cash from the station and eight mobile phones from their possession.
Later, the criminals escaped with the booty.
Contacted, Inspector (investigation) Rafiqul Islam of Kotwali Police Station said on information, he visited the spot, adding that they were trying to arrest the robbers.
