Robbers looted valuables from a house after injuring two house inmates at Sarkarpara in the district town early Friday.
Witnesses said a gang of armed robbers swooped on the house of Abdul Hakim, a bank official, and looted valuables including 10 tolas of gold ornaments and Tk40,000 cash after keeping the house inmates hostage at gunpoint.
Being resisted, the robbers stabbed Firoza, wife of Abdul Hakim, and their son Sumon indiscriminately, leaving them injured.
They were rushed to sadar hospital.
Golam Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said police visited the spot and will take necessary steps in this regard.
