An alleged robber ringleader was killed in a gunfight between his cohorts and police at Burumaria village in Pangsha upazila early Friday.
The deceased was identified as Abdus Sobhan, 49, ringleader of a notorious robber gang, who hailed from Lakkhandia village of Majhpara union in the upazila.
Abu Samad Md Iqbal Hayat, officer-in-charge of Pangsha Police Station, said police arrested the robber from Charkolimohor village in the upaizla around 10 pm on Thursday night.
