A suspected robber was killed in a ‘shootout’ with police at Ghorachhara area in Kulaura upazila of Mouvibazar district early Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Babul, 30.
Tipped off that a gang of robbers are preparing for committing robbery there, a team of police of Kulaura thana conducted a drive in a rubber garden in the area around 4:30 am.
Sensing the presence of police, the robbers opened fired on the law enforcers forcing them to fire back which triggered a gunfight.
