A suspected robber also a terrorist, known as Kalu Dakat, 42, was killed in a gunfight between robbers and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a jungle of Salimpur under Sitakund police station. The gunfight took place around 12am Monday (March 12).
RAB-7 Lieutenant Commander Ashikur Rahman told that on secret information, they were patrolling in the jungle. Kalu became critically injured as robbers began firing.
He was pronounced dead by the physicians after being taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH).
A foreign pistol, magazines, 13 local arms, rocket players and huge amounts of bullets were seized from the spot.Kalu was accused in seven cases of murder, robbery, and arms cases lodged with different police stations.
