A suspected robber was killed and another one injured in a shootout with the members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in the city’s Gabtoli area early Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Badsha Mia, 35, a listed robber of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
Another man was also injured during the gunfight near
Darussalam-Gabtoli Bus stand around 3:00 am. He is Hanif Mia, 42, RAB official said.
Hanif and Badsha were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) with bullet injuries where the on-duty physician pronounced Badsha dead around 5:30am, said DMCH police outpost Sub-Inspector (SI) Bachchu Mia quoting RAB-10.
“Hanif is undergoing treatment. The body of Badsha has been kept at the morgue,” added Bachchu.
