Road Transport Ministry signs APA for betterment

Road Transport and Bridges Ministry on Monday signed annual performance agreement (APA) with its various departments and authorities aiming to make them accountable for their responsibilities.
Secretary of the ministry MAN Siddique and Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC), Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA), Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority (DTCA) and Road Transport and Highways Division (RTHD) signed the APA on behalf of their respective sides at the ministry conference room.
Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said his ministry would give reward to officials for their better works.
As per the agreement, the ministry would ascertain vision, mission and strategic goals in accordance with the development priorities of the government he said while witnessing the agreement signing ceremony.—
The minister said the performance agreement would ensure accountability of the officials and improve the efficiency and accountability of the government officials.
Quader said the APA will help gearing up the implementation of government policies and programmes under an intensive monitoring system.
The minister said his ministry would not allow any dilemma or negligence for implementation its work, adding, “The ministry would cancel the work order or even blacklist contractors who fail to complete their job in time.”
He said construction work of the roads and highways across the country would be completed before the Holy Eid-ul-Azha and Roads and Highways would be a cause for suffering during the Eid.
Senior officials of the ministry, among others, were present at the signing ceremony.
