Truck drivers of Chittagong siege road in the port city yesterday following the altercation with the traffic police centring the demands of tolls from the drivers.
The siege happened at Nimtala area under Bandar thana in city .The siege was lasting for about one hour. A local sources said a traffic sergeant demand tolls from a truck drive and the agitated drivers put siege road for about one hour.
Sensing the news of blockade, senior traffic officials rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control after receipt of a written allegation against the sergeant. The traffic movement remained normal after 2 pm, sources said. Sub-Inspector of Bandar Thana Md. Dulal Miah admitted the fact of road siege to this correspondent.
