Road digging, pipe lying, tunnel opening in the middle of the streets and such other repair work at Motijheel Commercial Area and at most other places in the city center have created a huge mess in city life. Motijheel being the major commercial district with major banks and other corporate business houses operating along with vendors occupying the road side is facing a terrible situation. Dirty water, muddy road and big holes at the middle of the road are constant threats to pedestrians’ safety and protection to vehicles trying to make way through narrow passages. Many utility services are at work to implement their development schemes here without visible coordination with others on city roads. Some have dug big craters on the roads others have dug canal like tunnels to execute their plans. There are at least 26 utility services destroying the roads one-way or the other endangering public life. On arrival of the rainy season the situation will only turn worse but there is hardly any one to take care of the mess making public life miserable.
