A road development project was inaugurated in Chapainawabganj on Sunday.
Md. Abdul Wadud MP of Chapainawabganj sadar constituency inaugurated the development work on the 18.435 kilometres long road from Dariapur under Chapainawabganj sadar upazila to Durlavpur under Shibganj upazila of the district in a simple function held at Dariapur.
Among others, mayor of Chapainawabganj municipality Maolana Abdul Matin, project director of LGED Shariful Islam and executive engineer of Chapainawabganj municipality Sadequl Islam were present in the function.
Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) would implement the road development project in four packages at a cost of Tk. 11,17,55,546 funded by the Government of Bangladesh (GOB). Meanwhile, three contractor farms have been appointed for the purpose.
Abdul Wadud MP said, this is a prime minister’s committed project and it would be completed by the end of this year. After the completion of the project, Monakasha, Binodpur, Durlavpur, Panka, Uzirpur and Chatrajitpur unions under Shibganj upazila and Narayanpur, Sundarpur, Charbagdanga and Islampur unions of sadar upazila would be directly connected with the district and divisional headquarters, he added.
