Road crash kills two in Rajshahi

At least two people were killed in the separate road accidents in Rajshahi yesterday.
The accidents took place at Kashiyadanga upazila and Puthia upazila in the city.
The deceased were identified as Abul Kalam, 70, son of Nur Mohammad, a resident of Poschim Baliya village under Paba upazila of Rajshahi district, and Nasir Uddin, 40, son of Shadikul Islam; he was a resident of Rosulpur village under Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj district.
Confirming the matter, Officer in charge of Kashiyadanga police station Rabiul Islam said that Kalam was going to a local market through Rajshahi-Chapainawabganj road on riding a Bi-cycle while a speeding truck knocked him, leaving him seriously injured.
Later, locals rushed Kalam to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where the on duty doctors declared him dead.
However, after the incident, its driver managed to flee the scene.
On the other hand, Mustafizur Rahman, Sub-inspector of Shibpur highway police station of Puthia said that Nasir was standing in front of a truck on Dhaka-Rajshahi highway while another speeding truck hit the standing truck and Nasir, leaving he dead on the spot.

Both of police stations said the deceased’s body will be handed over to the family members after the autopsy.
