A road crash left a father and his daughter dead at Shingia on the Jessore- Khulna Highway under Jessore sadar upazila on Friday.
The dead were identified as Insan Ali Hawlader, 52, his daughter Farjana Akhter Sumi, 19, of Nirala residential area in Khulna town.
The accident took place as a truck crashed them down along with the motorbike in which they were going to Jessore from Khulna killing them on the spot at around 7:30am on Friday, said KM Azizul Islam, officer in-charge, Nawapara highway police station. ‘The motorbike ran over the motorbike from the front’, the OC added, ‘the victim Insan Ali Hawlader was retired army man.’
The OC also said the police arrested Sohan, assistant of the driver of the truck in connection with the incident.
