UNB, Chittagong :
A group of supporters of the Housing and Public Works Minister on Sunday demanded removal of ruling Awami League MP Afsarul Amin for his ‘audacious’ behaviour with Mosharraf Hossain.
Witnesses said, leaders and activists of local Awami League, Jubo League, Swechchhasebak League and Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) blocked Dhaka-Chittagong highway at Mirersarai upazila headquarters around
2pm, demanding punishment of Afsarul. They chanted slogans against the AL MP and burned his effigy. The hour-long blockade created traffic jam on the highway. Later, the traffic returned to normalcy around 3pm following the interference of police and the upazila AL leaders. Minister Mosharraf Hossain engaged in an altercation with AL MP from Chittaging-10 constituency Afsarul Amin following differences of opinion over flyovers at a dialogue at Chittagong Engineers Institution on Saturday night. At one stage, MP Afsarul left his chair and tried to move towards Mosharraf Hossain with an aggressive mood.
