An ethnic minority woman was killed in a road accident on the Dinajpur-Rangpur highway at Raniganj crossing under Dinajpur sadar upazila of the district on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Phulmoni Murmu, 50, wife of Talababu Murmu hailed from Gobindaganj village under Dinajpur sadar upazila.
Dinajpur district police control room sources said the accident occurred when a passengers’ bus crashed Phulmoni in the area at about 2.30 pm, leaving her dead on the spot.
Police recovered the body and sent it to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital.
After the incident, driver of the vehicle managed to escape.
A case was filed with Kotwali Thana of Dinajpur in this connection.
