The Parliamentary Committee on Estimates on Tuesday expressed its optimism over Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant project for minimizing the shortage of electricity in the country.
The committee members expressed their optimism over the power plant project at a press briefing after visiting units one and two of the project site in person on Tuesday with committee chairman Md Abdus Shahid in the chair, a press release said.
Committee members A B Tajul Islam, Fazle Hossain Badsha, Ahsan Adelur Rahman and Khadizatul Anwar were present there, reports BSS.
Besides, Science and Technology Minister Architect Yeafesh Osman and Local Lawmaker Nuruzzaman Biswas were also present on the occasion.
Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Project Director and concerned officials of the Ministry of Science and Technology and Bangladesh National Parliament Secretariat were present during the press briefing.
