Chittagong Bureau :The workers of a readymade garments factory in the port city staged demonstration outside the factory premises demanding their salary, bonus before Eid holiday.The demonstration occurred at Kelbin Fashion Garments factory at Baby Super Market area under Khulsi thana area in city on Thursday evening. The workers also obstructed the transport movement on Solasahar-Oxygen Road caused huge gridlock of transports on both side of the road. While contacted Officer Incharge of Khulsi thana Sukanta Chakraborty told this correspondent that the workers of the Kelbin factory staged demonstration to press home their demands of arrear salary and bonus and after payment of arrear salary , the workers joined their duties. Inspector of Industrial Police of Chittagong Arifur Rahman told that soon after the workers unrest in that factory, Industrial police and Khulsi thana police rushed to the spot and hold talks with the management of the factory .In the meeting, the management agreed to pay the salary of last month and bonus by September 20 and with this assurance, the workers suspended their agitations, sources said.
