A worker was killed and three others were injured in a fire at a garment factory in the city’s Kamrangirchar area early Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Kabir Hossain, 30, and the injured workers have been identified as Shaheen, 32, Rubel, 30, and Sohagh, 30, and they were rushed to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital’s (DMCH) burn unit, police said.

at Sultanganj around 6:30am and two fire service units doused the flames around 7:30am.
She said that their officials suspected that an electric short-circuit might have sparked the fire.
They estimate a Tk 4 million loss in the blaze, the official said. A case was filed case with the police station in this connection.
Kamrangirchar Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sheikh Monirul Alam said that the four workers were sleeping when the fire started.
Quoting factory owner Hemayet Uddin, the official said that 25 machines had been damaged.
The DMCH’s burn unit resident doctor Partha Shankar Paul said that parts of Kabir’s body had been badly burnt and that he had died before reaching the hospital.
The three others did not sustain burns but fell ill after inhaling smoke, the doctor said.
