A female garment worker was killed and three others injured in a road mishap in Chittagong Export Processing Zone (CPEZ) area in the port city yesterday morning.
The deceased was identified as Champa Rani, 28, a CEPZ factory worker, while identities of the other three injured could not be known.
Fire Service and Civil Defense (FSCD) Agrabad Station deputy director Abdul Maleque told that the accident happened when a bus, carrying workers of BMS Company Limited, plunged into a roadside ditch around 8:30am as its driver lost control over steering, leaving a pedestrian and three workers injured.
FSCD personnel rescued the injured and took them to Chittagong Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) where on-duty doctor declared one Champa dead.
CMCH police outpost nayek Mohammad Hanif confirmed the matter to this reporter.
