A garments factory worker was hacked to death by miscreants at Jamgora Kanthaltala in Ashulia early Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Sumon Shikder,30, a worker of The Rose Dress Factory and son of Aftab Ali Shikder, a resident of the area. Officer-in-charge of Ashulia Police Station Mohsinul Kadir said two unidentified men attacked Sumon as he came out of his house to respond to the call of nature in the dead of night. At one stage, the attackers stabbed Sumon indiscriminately, leaving him seriously injured.
He was rushed to a local hospital where doctors declared him dead. Police recovered the body and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy. A case was filed in this connection.
