RMG Sewing Machine operators training begins in Narsingdi

A three-month long Readymade Garments Sewing Machine Operator (RMG-SMO) Pilot course under Competency Based Training and Assessment (CBT&A) began at Narsingdi Polytechnic Institute on Thursday.
Department of Technical Education under the Ministry of Education with the assistance of ILO will implement the course with the object to reduce poverty from the country and create employment opportunities for the poor, under-privileged and disabled women aimed at making skilled garments workers.
A total of 25 trainees selected by NGO-Assistance for Blind Children (ABC) and sight saver are being imparted training in course under the project.
The inaugural function was held on the first day of the course at the training room of Narsingdi Polytechnic Institute with Principal of the institute Sushil Kumar Paul in the chair.
Chief Instructor and Academic in charge of Narsingdi Polytechnic institute Mahbubur Rahman delivered the welcome address.
Sanjay Ranjan Kar, Project Director of ABC Narsingdi unit, Zahirul Haque, Chairman of JEMI Knitwear and others spoke on the occasion.
