RMG makers urge Rajuk to repair roads connecting to BGMEA complex

The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has requested the Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) to repair the surrounding roads of its Complex in Uttara, Dhaka to ease communication of people in the area.
A delegation of BGMEA led by President Faruque Hassan met Rajuk Chairman A B M Amin Ullah Nuri at Rajuk office on February 17 and made the call.
They also called for removing all illegal roadside establishments in the area for easy vehicular and commuter movement.
BGMEA Vice President Shahidullah Azim, Vice President Md Nasir Uddin, and Directors Tanvir Ahmed and Md Imranur Rahman were present at the meeting.
Faruque Hassan said BGMEA serves the RMG industry which is a major pillar of Bangladesh’s economy. BGMEA provides important services to export-oriented garment factories including issuance of UD and a large number of officials from different garment factories travel to the BGMEA Complex located at Uttara every day for official purposes, he said.
But dilapidate roads connecting BGMEA Complex make their travel difficult, he added.
Rajuk Chairman ABM Amin UllahNuri took note of the points and assured the BGMEA delegation of all necessary actions to repair the roads and remove illegal structures in the area in next two months to improve road communications.
