At least 20 workers were injured when a devastating fire broke out at a garment factory in Sagorika area under city’s Pahartali thana at 11 am on Sunday.
The fire originated at Salam & Garments factory of Sagarika area from an electric short circuit at 11 am and soon engulfed the whole factory building.
Sources said firefighters with the help of local people extinguished the flame at 12.20 pm. The workers, who received severe injuries, were rushed to different hospitals, fire service sources said.
Hospital sources said the condition of the injured is out of danger. A huge quantity of clothes and valuable were damaged in the fire incident.
